Jay Maxwell (Stick'em Archery)
 Jay Maxwell Bio:
Jay Maxwell was born in Macon, Georgia before moving to the small town
of Thomson,Georgia at the age of two. It didn't take long for Jay to
fall into the outdoor lifestyle following the footsteps of his
grandfathers, uncles, and of course his father, Ed Maxwell. Beginning
his hunting career at the early age of three by watching his dad and
uncles every move. Jay soon followed with his first deer, at the age
of seven in 1986. Just a short five years later, Jay would take his
first archery deer that would soon lead to a growing passion for him in
the great world of bow hunting. After becoming an Eagle Scout
with the Boy Scouts of America in 1994, Jay started guiding turkey
hunts at the age of 16 while attending High School. A few years later
at college with a major in marketing @ Valdosta State University, Jay
realized college is not meant for everyone! He decided to make a move
to Fernandina Beach, Florida to continue his guiding career by
obtaining his captain's license focusing on salt water fishing. He
specialized in redfish and tarpon for three years. Jay then moved
back to Georgia as a full time hunting guide at Burnt Pine Plantation
in Madison,Georgia. After many great years as a hunting guide, Jay
finally made his move back into the marketing field as a sales rep for
Arrow Exterminators in the Wildlife Division where he continues his
career today.Since taking his first deer with a bow seventeen
years ago, Jay has set many goals in his bow hunting career. He has
taken deer with both recurve and compound bows including two Boone and
Crocketts and three Pope and Young class deer. The icing on the cake
came on November 20, 2007 when Jay arrowed the New Georgia State Record
Nontypical netting out at 213 4/8 inches. Ironically, this broke his
good friend and CEO of Stick'em Archery, Brian Stephens State Record
Nontypical after only 61 days of holding onto it. Jay has also taken
his grand slam of turkeys with his bow with the World Slam hoping to
soon follow. Along with hunting Jay also enjoys fishing and playing
golf where he holds onto a five handicap throughout the summer months.
"Hunting will always be my passion, but none of it would be possible
without my loving wife Kyla and son Jayden understanding what I love to
do. I only wish everyone could experience what God has created for all
of us to enjoy in the outdoors." Jay's State Record Whitetail
can be seen on numerous websites on the internet, several newspapers,
North American Whitetail Magazine (July 2008), Georgia Sportsman
(August 2008), Georgia Outdoor News Magazine (August and Sept 2008),
Peterson's Hunting Magazine (November 2008), RACK Magazine (Dec Cover
2008), GOA (July 2008), and featured in Muzzy's "Elite" Monster 200
